Mumbai: EDT has launched Recipe Ramsay, an AI-powered kitchen operating system built directly on WhatsApp and powered by SagePilot AI.

With the introduction of Recipe Ramsay, the company aims to integrate conversational AI directly with a smart kitchen appliance, marking a new step in AI-enabled home technology.

The launch of Recipe Ramsay is designed specifically for LUMA, EDT’s intelligent PureGlass Air Fryer with NutriRetain Edge.

Through this integration, Recipe Ramsay functions as a conversational AI recipe agent connected directly to the appliance, enabling users to interact through WhatsApp while receiving optimized cooking guidance.

Users can begin interacting with Recipe Ramsay by sending “Hi” or “Recipe” to the dedicated WhatsApp bot, enabling a seamless conversational experience.

By building Recipe Ramsay directly on WhatsApp instead of launching a standalone mobile application, EDT removes friction points such as app downloads, onboarding processes, and switching between multiple platforms.

According to EDT, the development of Recipe Ramsay was driven by consumer behavior insights gathered from more than 500 interviews conducted across various demographics and cities.

The research revealed that nearly 95% of respondents struggled not just with cooking itself but also with deciding what to cook each day.

Variables such as available ingredients, cooking time, dietary preferences, calorie or protein goals, spice levels, and serving sizes often contribute to decision fatigue in the kitchen. Recipe Ramsay aims to address this challenge by simplifying the decision-making process through an AI-powered conversational interface.

Naiyya Saggi, Co-Founder and CEO of EDT, said, “The next frontier of AI is Physical AI, intelligence embedded directly into the products people use every day. At EDT, the long term vision is to build stable, integrated systems where hardware and AI are conceived together to improve daily use outcomes.

Recipe Ramsay: Integrated Intelligence Layer to Enhances User Experience

Recipe Ramsay is an early expression of that vision. It’s not a generic AI layered onto an appliance, but a tightly integrated intelligence layer that enhances a user’s experience with LUMA’s core performance while reducing everyday cognitive load. By creating an AI-enabled assistive ecosystem around LUMA’s hardware, and delivering it through a familiar interface like WhatsApp, we’re moving beyond novelty toward infrastructure, where technology works quietly and meaningfully inside the home.”

Through Recipe Ramsay, users can input available ingredients, the amount of time they have, and their dietary or health preferences. The AI agent then generates a LUMA-optimized recipe that includes calibrated cooking temperature, recommended time, and cooking mode settings. This approach allows Recipe Ramsay to provide tailored cooking instructions that align with the appliance’s functionality.

If certain ingredients are missing, Recipe Ramsay also enables users to compare options across quick-commerce platforms, helping reduce the gap between intent and action.

This feature allows users to quickly identify where ingredients may be available, integrating decision-making, recipe discovery, and ingredient sourcing into a single conversational workflow.

EDT emphasized that Recipe Ramsay is not designed as a generic AI overlay. Instead, it represents an integrated hardware-and-AI experience aimed at improving cooking outcomes while reducing everyday cognitive load for users.

The launch of Recipe Ramsay aligns with EDT’s broader strategy of embedding human-centric technology into everyday appliances. The company recently announced a $1.4 million pre-seed funding round led by Sauce VC, with participation from multiple founders and industry leaders.

EDT continues to expand its portfolio of intelligent home appliances designed around real-world consumer behavior.

The company said the new AI-enabled kitchen system reflects its broader mission of building contemporary appliances that integrate technology seamlessly into everyday life.
